She encourages Black, African, Caribbean, American, and Afro-descendant communities to continue entering spaces where they are not expected and to open the way for future generations. Yacé believes that their presence matters and their voices must be heard.
This is not the first time a contestant has distanced themselves from the international competition. Brigitta Schaback, Miss Universe Estonia, also renounced her title after participating in the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, citing a disagreement with the national director’s values and work ethics. The Miss Estonia organization defended the national director, accusing Schaback of making inappropriate public comments.
